First of all thanks to all our new collectors who have taken home our bears to their new hugs. We look forawrd to hearing how everyone is settling in!
We had a fantastic day at the Melbourne Teddy Bear Fair yesterday. Kudos to everyone involved!
It was so nice to meet collectors & other artists face to face and hear all the comments on our bears. We can’t wait to see you all again!
We will be listing all the remaining bears on bearpile over the coming weeks so stay tuned!

I’d like to introduce you to Brody. His name means “muddy place” and that is certainly appropriate because Brody likes to place outside & dig in the dirt. He makes the most amazing mud pies and if he goes home with you he may just hare his recipe with you! (Ps. I wouldn’t eat them if I were you!)
Brody is 17cm (6.5″) tall made from dark honey coloured antique felted mohair. He has a leather nose, pulled & shaded toes, english glass eyes and has been aged with acrylics & prisma markers. He has needle sculpting & an upward turned wobbly head joint.
His fat tummy is stuffed with glass beads for extra weight. Brody has small parts & is not suitable for children.
Brody will be looking for a new home at the Melbourne Teddy Bear Fair on the 1st May 2011.
Just a quick note to let you know that we will be at the Melbourne Teddy Bear Fair May 1st @ the Berwick Leisure centre.
We are terribly excited to be part of this our first fair!
So last weekend we were part of Craft victoria’s Craft Hatch market at the State library of Victoria. It was a quiet day but still a successful out for for our first day out as Gresswell Forest Bears. We shared the stall with our good friends Odd One Out.

There are a lot of exciting things happening down here in the forest! We’ll be sharing more with you in the coming weeks.
I hope you have a wonderful St Patrick’s Day
It’s been design week here at Gresswell Forest and here is Pronto the prototype bear showing off the pattern I have been nutting out for the last week.
As you can see he has an extremely plump little belly which is the result of much trial and error and a 4 piece pattern with darts and a gathered tummy.
I just adore his crazy little (ok giant) feet and I look forward to trying out trapunto paws with this pattern.
The head shapes lends itself to the bulbous little nose. I’m sure this pattern will stand up to lots of variation.
Now it’s time to dig into the fabric stash and turn prototype into bear!
Artie is 14 inches of attitude, this very furry bunny can’t wait to lounge around at your place.
Artie likes to takes it easy and his loose cotter pin joints lend themselves to him sitting around or even sprawling amongst your other bears.
Artie is named after Artie Kovacs who was one of the saviors of Gresswell Forest.
Long synthetic fur makes Artie incredibly fun to squish and his scissor sculpted face and pulled toes are finished with shading and further needle sculpting.
Artie is an artist bear friend which means he is not suitable for young children even though he is finished with safety eyes we feel it’s best if he is saved for children 7 & up.
To adopt Artie please visit us at Craft Victoria’s Craft Hatch market at the State library of Victoria on the 12th March 2011.
